The holiday season is all about fun and celebrating, but it can also get pretty hectic and leave us feeling wiped out. With all the parties, cooking, and shopping on our to-do list, keeping our energy up is key to really enjoying everything. In today's blog, I'll go over some helpful tips to help you stay energized during the busy holiday season, so you can enjoy every moment without feeling exhausted. From smart eating habits to good time management, these insights will help you cruise through the holidays with energy and excitement.
1.) Eat Mindfully. Distracted eating usually leads to overeating. Instead, slow down, enjoy each bite, and eat mindfully. This will give your brain time to keep up with what your body is doing, so that way you can realize when you are full.
2.) Make sure you move after eating. Try to move your body for at least a few minutes after each meal. Even if its just a short walk, it will help lower your blood sugar. Get others to join you and have fun with it.
3.) Breathe. Your probably thinking - duh. No, but really, try some breathwork. All the stress from the holidays can get your craving more sugar than usual. The keep cravings minimal - try some gentle slow breathwork - like box breathing or the 4-7-8 breath. Both will calm your stress response and help reset your nervous system.
4.) Look into supplements. Consider talking to your doctor about some glucose supporting supplements. They aren't a substitute for healthy eating, but they can come in handy (especially over the holidays).
